The Pallet LOOP is delighted to announce it has been shortlisted for an FIS Innovation Award for its circular economy pallet reuse scheme, and its work with its first building materials customer, British Gypsum.

The business is in the running for the 2025 FIS Sustainable Innovation Award – recognising its efforts to change the way building materials move across the construction industry in the UK and Ireland.

The FIS (Finishing & Interiors Sector) is a community of members drawn from contractors, manufacturers and distributors of ceilings, steel framing systems, operable walls, partitions, plastering, drylining and specialist interior fit-out and refurbishment businesses operating in every type of building. Every year, the FIS Awards celebrate innovation – highlighting companies that are bringing new creative ideas to market that meet an identified commercial need in the construction industry.

Nathan Wride, Director of Partnerships & Innovation at The Pallet LOOP, said: “We are honoured to be shortlisted for this prestigious award, which recognises our commitment to sustainable innovation. As a business we’re delivering a solution that is having a positive environmental and financial impact across the construction sector – while also setting new industry standards. Working with building materials manufacturers and their customers up and down the country, we are steadfast in our mission to shape a more sustainable future.  We look forward to attending the FIS Conference and celebrating excellence in innovation with the other companies shortlisted for an award and conference attendees.”

The winners of the FIS Innovation Awards will be announced at the FIS Awards Ceremony on 26 February at the Design Centre in London.

The Pallet LOOP is a circular economy initiative designed to reduce waste and improve sustainability in the construction and logistics industries by addressing the issue of pallet disposal. The business provides a range of high-quality, reusable pallets and operates a nationwide pallet collection service that will pick up pallets from building sites and builders’ merchants nationwide. Offering a simple closed-LOOP solution for the recovery, repair and reintroduction of pallets into the building materials supply chain, The Pallet LOOP is helping the construction industry save timber, lower carbon, reduce waste and cut costs.
