The Pallet LOOP team is taking part in the BMF’s All Industry Conference in Harrogate from November 4-7. Appearing on the Construction Leadership Council’s CO2nstructZero Business Champions’ stand, the team will be speaking to delegates about the launch of the business, which is set to revolutionise pallet use across the UK construction industry.
The Pallet LOOP is a transformational, circular economy, pallet re-use scheme that is on a mission to eliminate avoidable pallet waste in the UK construction sector. Founded by some of the biggest names in the UK pallet industry, the business provides construction companies with a greener, safer, leaner way of transporting building materials. Shifting the sector away from the current pallet practice of ‘deliver, distribute and discard’ to the principles of ‘recover, repair, reuse’, The Pallet LOOP incentivises pallet returns via a cost-effective, easy-to-administer, deposit-based system.
Designed to help the UK construction industry cut its consumption of timber, improve its sustainability credentials, and increase its contribution to the nation’s zero waste and zero carbon ambitions, The Pallet LOOP is timetabled for operational roll out in 2022. The Pallet LOOP became a Co2nstructZero Business Champion in October – highlighting the sizeable contribution that the business is expected to make when it comes to cutting carbon in the construction sector.
During the BMF Conference, The Pallet LOOP team will be taking part in the BMF’s second Sustainability Forum, which will be looking at the source use of construction materials. Commenting, Nathan Wride, Head of Partnerships & Innovation at The Pallet LOOP, said: “As we launch our business to the construction sector, there are few better ways of getting face-to-face with industry contacts than at the BMF All Industry Conference. Over the last six months we’ve had so many positive conversations with key players across the industry, who are excited about the prospect of The Pallet LOOP and its potential to transform their carbon footprint. We look forward to continuing these discussions at the BMF conference and to working across the sector to drive lasting change in the use of pallets, in support of UK Government’s net zero ambitions.”
